A little about meteaching | exploring | learning
First grade is a magical age, and I feel honored to work with these bright young minds! I have been teaching since 1990, and have had the pleasure of teaching at Lena Whitmore since 1996. I love to travel, read, garden, hike and bike. This summer I spent some time around the Pacific Northwest with friends and family. I also got to travel to faraway Zanzibar on the east coast of Africa (it was magical!). I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone (1982-1984) where I worked as an Agriculture Volunteer to teach farmers about turning swamps into irrigated rice paddies. That’s where I met my husband, Chris, who works at WSU in International Programs Research and Development. I have two grown children who live here in Moscow. I got my Masters degree at the University of Idaho as a Wright Fellow in 2004, and became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2007. I look forward to a year full of learning with these fabulous first graders. “Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read.” - Groucho Marx |
